New Windsor, NY -- (9/5/18) Laborers' Local 17 today endorsed Colin Schmitt for the 99th NYS Assembly District.
Business Manager Todd Diorio stated in an endorsement letter, “Please accept this letter as official notification of endorsement by Laborers’ Local 17 in your upcoming election. We wish you success in the upcoming election and look forward to your support on issues that affect Local 17 members as well as all working people.”
Local 17 represents over 1200 union members with over 95% of their membership being registered to vote.
Colin Schmitt stated, “I am grateful to have earned the endorsement of Local 17. I come from a union household and would not be where I am today if it weren’t for Labor Unions. The members of Local 17 and all working men and women can count on me to be their voice in the State Assembly. I am proud of my proven track record of getting the job done and delivering real results for our area and will bring that experience to the State Assembly to serve our District.”
Colin Schmitt is committed to public service. Colin is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and chief-of-staff for New Windsor’s town government. Previously, Colin served as Director of Operations for the NYS Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs. Colin and his fiancée, Nikki, live in the Town of New Windsor.
