Colin Schmitt tours New Hampton Lumber
New Windsor, NY -- (5/23/16) Colin J. Schmitt, candidate for the 99th NYS Assembly District, toured local business New Hampton Lumber and talked with owners and employees about the many struggles facing New York businesses.
New Hampton Lumber is a third generation family owned business located in the Town of Wawayanda. Brothers Dennis and Seth Arluck continue to maintain the business and hire local employees despite many pressures, burdens and expenses placed on them by New York State. Colin Schmitt toured the business and spoke with both ownership and employees regarding the state of business in New York.
Dennis and Seth Arluck, owners, stated, “It was great to have Colin Schmitt visit and tour our family business. More importantly it was refreshing to see a leader who gets it and understands the difficulties small business owners face in New York. Colin knows we need to get government out of the way so our business, and those like it, can succeed, continue to be a positive force in the economy and employ local residents in stable jobs.”
Colin Schmitt stated, “I thank Dennis, Seth and their team at New Hampton Lumber for taking the time to tour me around their family business. Albany politicians time and time again get in the way of our small and family owned businesses here the Hudson Valley. It is time that we elect an Assemblyman who understands we need less restriction and regulation from Albany that strangle the backbone of our economy. We need forward thinking approaches that make sense and put New Yorkers back to work.”
