ASSEMBLYMAN SCHMITT STATEMENT ON THE BEGINNING OF 2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND STATE OF STATE
Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (R,C,I-New Windsor) released the following statement regarding the opening day of 2020 legislative session and the Governor’s State of the State address.
Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt stated, “It is the privilege and honor of a lifetime to represent the 99th Assembly District and I thank all my constituents for granting me the opportunity to do so.
As we begin the 2020 legislative session I am laser focused on continuing to deliver real results for our district and serving as the leading voice defending our Hudson Valley values in Albany.
In the last few weeks and months we have seen disastrous repercussions from many of the misguided partisan new laws that were rammed through during the last session. The Governor and his legislative allies look to continue that trend this year and I will be fighting every step of the way to limit the negatives impacts we are currently dealing with and stand against the new ones that are to come.”
Colin Schmitt is committed to public service. Colin is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and Assemblyman for the 99th NYS Assembly District which includes the Town of Stony Point in Rockland County and The Towns of Wawayanda, Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Chester, Blooming Grove, New Windsor, Cornwall, Highlands and Woodbury in Orange County. Colin lives in the Town of New Windsor with his wife Nikki and their beloved adopted Catahoula puppy Quincy!
