My office has been contacted by thousands of constituents since the start of the COVID-19 crisis. A majority of those reaching out for help have centered around unemployment benefits and the delays from the Department of Labor.
At the beginning I was the first official to demand the Department of Labor improve the system they had in place. While a new system has now come online the backlog of cases from the overwhelmed system continues to impact so many.
Team Schmitt is working to assist all who need help from the district and each case is unique but this text messages brought joy to us all. A constituent dealing with a multi- month back up reached out for assistance and we set out to help him. At a time where it is easy to feel despair there is hope and positive news around the corner.
We were so pleased to help this constituent secure a solution and will keep doing so no matter how long it takes to help all in need. There are no instant solutions right now but hard work gets cases resolved.
