ASSEMBLYMAN COLIN SCHMITT PRESENTS HORIZON FAMILY MEDICAL GROUP WITH ASSEMBLY PROCLAMATION IN RECOGNITION OF COVID-19 RESPONSE EFFORTS

Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt (R,C,I,LBT,SAM- New Windsor) today presented Horizon Family Medical Group with a proclamation for their generosity and efforts in partnering to provide free COVID-19 antibody testing to first responders, teachers and essential workers in the 99th Assembly District.

The antibody testing program partnership between Assemblyman Schmitt, New Windsor Councilman Andrew Regenbaum, and Horizon Family Medical Group provided hundreds of free antibody tests to first responders, teachers, and essential workers during the month of August into September. Providing these tests has assisted many in their ability to return to work, continue working, and gain a better knowledge of their immunity.

Assemblyman Schmitt thanks all who were involved in this effort, particularly CEO James Olver, Dr. Arthur Klein, Eileen Bromm, and Shannon Wood, and highlights the importance of using safe protocols and following guidelines for safety during this time.

Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt stated, “Horizon Family Medical Group has gone above and beyond to assist our district during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To thank them for their partnership to provide free COVID-19 antibody testing to first responders, teachers and essential personnel of our district I was proud to present a formal NYS Assembly Proclamation. This pandemic has impacted all of us, and I will continue to do all that I can do to ensure our district has the resources that it needs to overcome this disease. I thank New Windsor Councilman Andrew Regenbaum, Mr. Olver, Dr. Klein and all who worked with us to make this critical public health project a success.”

New Windsor Councilman Andrew Regenbaum stated, “COVID-19 has greatly impacted all of us. I was happy to partner with Assemblyman Schmitt who has been an incredible partner here in the district and county wide in terms of helping with the crisis. We reached out to the Assemblyman early on with Horizon Family Medical Group and he was right there to help us and our team, Dr. Klein and CEO Olver, and it’s been a privilege to get to work with all of these fine people and I am humbled to be a part of this”.

Dr. Arthur Klein stated, “It’s been a rough time for this county and this country and we at Horizon are doing our best to fight this thing and we haven’t missed a day. We’ve been here every day trying to do our best for all of our patients, and we’re continuing to fight hard.”
